This actual photo of the surface of the sun which is absolutely not just a crop from Wendy Harman’s Wikipedia photo of a Macaroni Pie reveals several sunspots, suggesting the sun is entering a period of high solar activity.

The surface of the sun is only a couple hundred degrees, far less than the interior or corona which are both in the millions. Because the surface of the sun is made of semi-solid plasma, it is actually possible to walk on the sun with proper protection. You would die of gravity however, as on the sun you would weigh several thousand tons and your bones would all break under the pressure of your skin and organs.
