The new Pokémon anime is weird

Okay like aside from everyone going THIS IS WHY GOD DOESN’T TALK TO US, and all the stupid shit;

The series is called Manifest Heart.  It’s not bad, and one man is doing the animating with a bunch of VA’s.  I hate tumblr sometimes.

Seriously this series is really cute! Give it a look!

But really Tumblr, you just got to make fun of something that someone has put a lot of their heart into. It’s not a “PokePorn” or anything like that, it’s a person’s work to animate their fanfiction where they have a gay couple that isn’t fetishized.

But whatever, right?

Word up! I’m Hunter in this and I got two dads and they handle it in a completely chill way. There’s no harmful gay jokes. There’s no fetishizing their relationship. It just happens to be two dudes who love each other and raise a kid together. I’ve been very impressed with it and am proud to have involvement in it. He’s making something that people can watch and feel like being gay isn’t something out of the ordinary or something to make fun of and I think that’s great. I wish this was around when I was a kid.

Cal’s made crazy improvement in his animation over the years (like

geegeenik

said, it’s all one guy) and in the most recent episode, there’s a fight scene that some friend’s saw and were confused when I said it wasn’t from the actual anime. I’m impressed with new things he’s improved in with each episode. And this is all voice actors volunteering to voice for free because we all want to come together and make something neato.

It’s super easy to pick out a moment of something and isolate it to make it awkward out of context, but try not to fall for it, yeah? Look up the source and watch it yourself first. (Tumblr is unfortunately known for this kinda thing and I’ve had to learn from it the hard way on many occasions)

Skills have improved considerably in all aspects of the creation of this show and the guy behind the show is a ONE MAN ARMY of creativity, he pours his heart and soul into making this series and if you’d seen the comparison between earlier episodes and the recent ones you’d be blown away by what he’s accomplished from the time he set out to make Manifest Heart to now!
