1. Vaginal discharge is normal
2. Wearing panty liners 24/7 is not necessary
3. Vaginas are acidic enough to BLEACH fabric, hence the discoloration of underwear
4. Longer labias are more normal than smaller ones (but both are fine)
5. It is not safe for vaginas to smell like sunshine and flowers so quit expecting it to
6. Having sex has no correlation of how “tight” your vagina is
7. Yeast infections are COMMON

In case any of you ladies are feeling a little self conscious

facebook reminded me that today a few years back, august 2nd 2012, i met a time traveler

dude wearing extremely stereotypical hipster gear (plaid scarf, cut-off jeans, vest over ironic tee, fedora) but looked about 35ish.

he walked up to me, this was in 2012 when i ascribed to my assigned gender and was very clearly dressed in a feminine way with my hair all done up and heavy makeup and girly clothes, and he said “excuse me sir are you good with your history?”

he punctuates the sentence by showing me a little silver spoon with the new york skyline on it. i decide against correcting him.

having JUST graduated high school, i said “kinda”

he nods and says a little quietly “when was it that the.. erm..” he struggles for a second, then recognition lights up his eyes. “ah, the two towers collapsed?”

i’m jolted by the bus coming to a stop. i blink a few times and say “september 11th. 2001.”

he says “right. of course. thank you.” and immediately gets off the bus.

Didn’t even know people are not allowed to give blood if they are gay

That’s been the thing for years. The HIV scare of the ‘80s prohibited us from donating blood. And they still hold that against us despite the fact that that claim has been debunked over and over again.

the wording on the paperwork is “Are you a man who has had sexual intercourse with a man after 1980” or “Are you a woman who has had sexual intercourse with a man who has had sexual intercourse with another man since 1980” (this was a blood drive at my college where majority of the students werent Alive in 1980.) I donated all the time back when I was a virgin, because o- , but now I’m not allowed to. So a better question for this article is “Why won’t baby boomers let queer people donate blood, even though all the blood gets screened for HIV and aids anyway?” though, theres a lot of room for loopholes in the wording of it

This fucking matters. Bias in medicine is bias that should not exist. Fucking fix it.

This is disgusting

hey trans people can’t give blood either. was banned from a plasma place for having the nerve to show up and be trans. “we don’t serve you people”.

This is one of the reasons why it was painful for a LOT of Queer people after the Pulse shooting. We kept seeing messages calling for blood donations but so many of us can’t donate. We couldn’t even help our own community.

Stop reducing native issues to “they had their land taken”.

Our sisters are still murdered and missing.
Our children go hungry and cold.
Our elders can’t afford health care.
Our parents suffer from untreated mental illness and have addictions because they self medicate.

And thats not even on the reservations. Thats just in farming communities of the Lumbee. And we are doing well by comparison to other groups.

Stop reducing us to stolen land and erasing our real struggles.

Natives have the highest suicide rates. Natives have the most unsafe school conditions. 75% of sex trafficking victims in Canada are First Nations. Natives are the most likely to be shot by police according to some studies and just as likely to be shot as black brothers and sisters according to others. Half of the homes on reservations in the US are legally deemed “uninhabitable” despite families and children living in them. Non native people can still commit crimes against us and not even be tried under native law, usually meaning not at all. Reservations flood often, they are stricken with drought. Most urban native kids carry the weight of being the only native their classmates and other townspeople will ever know. There are no college classes for us or about us. We are struggling, y’all. We have had our land, languages, and family ripped from us, it’s more than just history, it’s 500+ years of ongoing genocide.
