a 7 year old that i have met 2 times just came out of her room and sat next to me on the couch and without saying hello she said “if you didn’t want to die, then why were you born?” and her mom said “PLEASE, Mackenzie. go upstairs” and she crossed her legs and said “no, mom. i want to hear what she has to say” ???

this is the spiritual successor to “shrimp heaven now” “daniel we cant keep doing this”

This is real

okay but this is a serious and ongoing problem i live in a rent controlled building with mostly black and latino tenants and we never get our shit. ever. we’ve caught post office workers kicking packages through the lobby door to avoid going inside or just venturing a few steps in to slap a missed package notice to the wall w/o even trying to go to the apartment and deliver it. workers have even dropped off packages in the corner bodega to avoid going into our building.

if we do get something delivered it’s because the postal worker is also black or latino and isn’t afraid to come inside 🙄

that’s just atrocious

the whole “fiction doesn’t affect reality” argument is actually kinda racist…

people talk about like how finding nemo and jaws are great examples but nobody ever talks about how fiction has shaped our perceptions of different racial and ethnic groups

like do you think the media has no hand in why alot of ignorant white people think africa is a desertland and not a continent of different countries, full of rich and diverse cultures, beautiful buildings and riches? or why they think asia is only japan, korea and china? when asia is also india, bhutan, the Philippines, nepal, etc?

do you think that media and fiction hasnt allowed whites to view black people as ignorant and lazy thru cartoons and minstrel shows?

like if you really think what youre seeing on tv doesnt affect reality and how people think then like. you must be fuckin stupid.

seriously though, list of fucking awful trends in the gay male community:

  • “sassy black woman” voice
  • t-slurs everywhere and rampant transmisogyny
  • talking down to women/harassing them because “it’s ok i’m gay lol”
  • transphobia towards trans men (ew, vaginas!!!)
  • misogyny towards cis women (more ew, vaginas!!!!)
  • “gay is the new black” (says white gay men)

like can we just address

And then they say that you’re being homophobic when you call them out on any of it.

It’s not a trend either. It was exactly like this 10+ years ago.
