Literally my favourite thing about Rogue One is that it makes the opening of New Hope so funny. Like, Vader has followed Leia from a planet he just blew up seconds ago and pursued her across the galaxy and then sheâs just like:Â âIâm on a diplomatic mission to Alderaanâ
Vader: Youâre a rebel. I just had a fight with your entire rebel fleet and followed you here. Straight from the rebels. Of which you are a part
Leia: *dramatic gasp* rebel? Me???  I was just passing through. Diplomatically. Thought it was a five-space-ship pile-up or something going on thereâŚÂ
death star plans? on my alderaanian diplomatic mission? itâs more likely than you think
Animator/cartoonist/painter Milton Knight (Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, Cool World, Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat) is a dear friend of mine and is in desperate need for financial help. Please consider helping him out via his GoFundMe pageâŚ
Yup, one and the same. Heâs one of my all-time favorites, up there with Ralph Bakshi, Herge and Bill Watterson – Itâs absolutely damn infuriating that anyone has to go through this, not even mentioning the fact that the dudeâs a pretty big deal. Heâs not only what Iâd call one of the most significant cartoonists of the early â90s for his contributions to Sonic the Hedgehogâs art direction as well as his comics, but also essentially one of the granddaddies of Youtube Poop and all the web culture that implies.
what the fuck, this is heart breakingâmilton knight owns, pls support him if you can
The image is from Sonichu, a comic by Christine Weston Chandler, more commonly known as Chris Chan. The titular character Sonichu is an amalgam of Sonic the Hedgehog and Pikachu from Pokemon. Chris Chan was the subject of a lot of internet drama for a few years.
The commented image is a screenshot of someone asking if the icon the character in the comic wears is Sonic or Pikachu. The answer is both, and the commenter is saying that the user is morally innocent because they have never heard of Sonichu.
i honest to god have shivers running across my skin and iâm laughing so nervously what the fuck? do people not know what sonichu is anymore? please. please, younglings, learn your history
Basically what Iâm saying is âthing that moves like a distorted gif, but in meatspaceâ works much better than âthing with tons of tentaclesâ as a visual representation of cosmic horror, IMHO.
Nowadays, sure, but human depictions of cosmic ineffability are always informed by time and place. In the early days of deep-sea exploration, âthing with tons of tentaclesâ was the very pinnacle of âholy shit what is thatâ; itâs just that the symbol has aged in a way that the substance has not.
CEPHALOPODS IN 1918: horrors from the unknowable depths of blackness only made only the more horrific by animate motions suggesting a flicker of intelligence within their shapeless, fleshy coils
